The Beam, a 3D product film for Chillbeam. The piece is built to show what the product does before it explains what the product is, which is the opposite of the order these films usually take and the reason this one holds attention.

Naming a thing first is a habit rather than a rule.

Show, then name

The conventional order introduces the product and then demonstrates it. It is tidy, and it spends its most valuable seconds on information the audience has no reason yet to want.

Reversing it buys attention. By the time the name arrives, there is already a reason to remember it, and the explanation lands on someone who is leaning in rather than waiting.

All of it is built in 3D, so the product could be shown doing things that would be difficult to stage and impossible to light.
